David’s love for sight and sound began early on when his grandmother helped him make his very first camera. A Quaker Oatmeal Box pinhole camera. It wasn’t long thereafter that as a gift his aunt gave him his first tape recorder and microphone, which David used to record numerous skits. Including “Going down the street in a bathtub we’re the grunters, grunt grunt grunt grunt.” David’s early education was in the San Diego school system at a time before budget cuts, learning both advanced photography and darkroom skills. After his internship at Universal Studios, he purchased his first 35mm motion picture camera, an Eclair Cameflex CM3 on the advice given by Academy Award winning cinematographer Haskell Wexler. While perfecting his cinematography skills early on, David supported himself as a Disc Jockey spinning records on the radio at a time long before computerized playlists ever existed. Since that time David has gone from being involved with an Emmy Award winning television newscast, to managing the operations of a college sports radio network, to sound mixer and sound designer, to winning numerous ADDY Awards for voice work and commercial production. With credits including writing, shooting, directing, editing, scoring, voiceover & narration.
